Turn End: a garden & three houses

I have been wanting to visit Turn End for years, and on a stormy bank holiday weekend in May I finally made it. Built by architect Peter Aldington in the 1960’s and still functioning as the family’s home, the project has truly stood the test of time. It feels alive, loved and still utterly relevant. I was particularly drawn not only to the materiality of the build, with wood, concrete blocks and glass in abundance, but by the beautifully crafted and seamless osmosis between the interior and exterior environments.
